Water became California’s gold the past four years as farmers fought with city folks, Republicans fought with Democrats on how best to distribute the state’s meager water supply. California is the “bread basket of America.” It produces the bulk of nuts, fruits and vegetables. But for the past hour years, field have been fallowed or abandoned. Without water, you can’t grow anything.
